Technip Energies Secures Major EPC Contract for Commonwealth LNG Export Facility in Louisiana

Technip Energies has been awarded a major EPC contract by Commonwealth LNG for its 9.5 Mtpa LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. Leveraging its modular SnapLNG by T.ENTM technology, Technip Energies will deliver six identical liquefaction trains to accelerate construction and reduce costs. The award strengthens the company’s position as a global LNG leader, though execution is contingent upon Commonwealth’s Final Investment Decision expected later this year.

Technip Energies, a global leader in LNG technology and project delivery, has announced it has been awarded a major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract by Commonwealth LNG. The contract supports the development of a 9.5 million tons per annum (Mtpa) liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal located in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

This latest milestone underscores Technip Energies’ dominance in the global LNG market. The contract value exceeds €1 billion, classifying it as a “major” award under the company’s revenue reporting guidelines. It follows the successful completion of the front-end engineering and design (FEED) phase, also executed by Technip Energies.

At the heart of the project lies Technip Energies’ proprietary SnapLNG by T.ENTM, a modular and scalable solution designed to accelerate construction schedules, reduce capital costs, and enhance project certainty. The EPC scope includes the delivery of six identical liquefaction trains using a single, replicated design. This approach enables faster execution, improved risk management, and better predictability—key factors in bringing large-scale energy infrastructure online efficiently.

CEO Arnaud Pieton emphasized the strategic significance of the award, noting, “We are honored to be selected for the Commonwealth LNG project, which reflects our world-leading expertise in modularized LNG delivery. With our SnapLNG by T.ENTM solution, we are committed to helping ensure a more secure and efficient global energy supply.”

Although the contract has been formally awarded, it is contingent upon Commonwealth LNG’s Final Investment Decision (FID). Until the FID or a full notice to proceed is issued, the project will not be reflected in Technip Energies’ order backlog.

The Commonwealth LNG facility aims to become one of the most efficient and environmentally responsible LNG export terminals in North America. Located near the Calcasieu Ship Channel, it is strategically positioned to access abundant natural gas supplies and major shipping routes. The project is expected to drive significant economic growth in southwestern Louisiana, creating thousands of construction jobs and establishing hundreds of permanent high-paying positions upon completion.

This contract represents another step forward in Technip Energies’ mission to deliver energy solutions that bridge today’s needs with tomorrow’s sustainability goals. The company has delivered more than 20% of the world’s operating LNG capacity, and its continued leadership in modular and innovative project delivery cements its reputation as a go-to EPC partner in the evolving global energy market.
